Ruby C. Hunt YMCA - Camps



The Ruby C. Hunt YMCA a unique summer camp experience that engages and develops children while they build strong and healthy relationships that will last for the rest of their lives. At the Y kids age 2-4 years old in Camp Little Brave and Rising Kindergarten through 8th grade in traditional Camp will get to participate in group activities, health and wellness initiatives, arts and crafts, swimming in the Y's outdoor water park and rising to new heights while climbing on our climbing wall. YMCA Summer Camp counselors receive 30+ hours of staff training annually including child abuse prevention, child development, leading children and much more. In Y programs we maintain a 1:13 staff-to-child ratio to ensure the safety and engagement of all children.

The Counselor In Training (CIT) program is for teens from rising 8th grade to 16 years old who are looking to build leadership skills and work with children in our Summer Camp Programs. Take a look at the CIT Program flyer for more information about training and prices. CITs will spend the first part of their time training and developing skills to work with children and build their leadership skills before they spend time working with youth in our Summer Camp Programs.
