Learn the ballet basics while improving posture, balance, and muscle tone. Exercise the mind as well the body while learning combinations to beautiful classical music. No experience required.

Mandatory attire: Comfortable

A structured class environment introducing students to the basic fundamentals of classical ballet training consisting of barre work, centre combinations and across the floor exercises. Students will learn basic ballet terminology.

Students build upon the work mastered in ballet 1 and are introduced to body awareness, proper posture and alignment. Conditioning can be added to this level and is highly encouraged as emphasis is placed on building core muscles utilized in classical ballet.

Pointe students will acquire the technical understanding and muscular strength needed for efficient pointe work.

Pas de deux students will learn the art of partnering and work on various partnering skills as well as becoming familiar with the sense of mutual trust and support essential in pas de deux.

A preparation class for serious ballet students interested in dancing en pointe. This class is used to develop and strengthen the muscles necessary for pointe work.

The goal of this class is to instill a love of ballet while focusing on the basics and

laying the groundwork for future study.
