PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE REGISTERING!

The Ruby C. Hunt YMCA is now offering the “Hoops Academy” basketball clinic! This section of the clinic will be focused on teaching and improving participant’s fundamentals. We will dive into the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. In this clinic, participants will be taught the fundamentals of different skills and concepts of the game of basketball! Players will be given practical drills to learn and understand the game of basketball and the concepts presented in the clinic.

This is a one-week program consisting of four total sessions.

The dates for the sessions will be:

Monday, October 21st, 2024 (6:00 PM to 8:00 PM)

Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 (6:00 PM to 8:00 PM)

Thursday, October 24th, 2024 (6:00 PM to 8:00 PM)

Friday, October 25th, 2024 (6:00 PM to 8:00 PM)

 

All sessions will be at the Ruby C. Hunt YMCA.

This clinic is for boys and girls ages 10-14.

 

The clinic will be run by Ademide Badmus! Ademide is a current member of the Gardner-Webb University Men’s Basketball team. Ademide attended Lynn English High School in Massachusetts, where he was a back-to-back state champion in 2019-2020 and was the MaxPrep Player of the Year in 2021.

Badmus continued his playing career at Gardner-Webb University where he was on the Big South All-Academic team in 2023. Following that year Badmus earned a starting role with the Runnin’ Bulldogs where he averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds.

Through this clinic, Badmus hopes to improve player’s skills and improve their character. Badmus desires to give back to Cleveland County, where he has learned and grown so much!

 

The cost will be $30 a person for members and $45 a person for non-members.

Monday, Oct. 21st: Dribbling

Tuesday, Oct. 22nd: Shooting

Thursday, Oct. 24th: Passing

Friday, Oct. 25^th: Defense
