Description:
The climbing club will be a weekly program where participants get instruction and guidance in rock climbing, practice goal setting, are involved in achievement opportunities, and are given interactive weekly devotions. In each session, participants will go through a devotion, learn new climbing skills and techniques, and have the opportunity to put them into practice through climbing!
Each semester (Fall & Spring) will consist of 14 weekly sessions. A year-long climbing club registration will include all 28 sessions.
Grade Divisions:
This program is broken up into three divisions based on your child’s school grade. Children must be in at least 2nd grade to participate.
Cost:
Year Long:
- Member: $200
- Non Member: $250
Semester Long:
- Member: $125
- Non Member: $150
Schedule:
Each session of Climbing Club will take place from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM. Participants must be picked up by 4:30 PM. Parents who do not pick up participants by 4:30 PM may be charged a $5 late fee. Participants who are not picked up by 4:30 PM will be sent to Child Watch and must be picked up from there by 7:30 PM.
Mondays: 1st to 3rd graders
Thursdays: 4th to 8th graders
The Fall semester Climbing Club will begin the week of September 9th, 2024. The Spring semester of Climbing Club will begin the week of January 13th, 2025.
Climbing Club will not take place from November 25th, 2024 through November 29th, 2024.
Transportation:
Participants from Boiling Springs Elementary, Springmore Elementary, Crest Middle School, or Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy may ride the bus to the YMCA.
Participants from any other schools must be dropped off at the Ruby C. Hunt YMCA. Participants being dropped off must be accompanied by an adult into the building and the adult must check the participant into Climbing Club with the assistance of one of the Climbing Club Staff.
Payment:
Payment must be made in one lump sum payment for the entire registration amount or be drafted on a monthly basis over the span of the program. However, payment must be made or a draft set up before one can begin participating in Climbing Club. There is no price per session, participants must sign up for a semester or year long option.
